Introductory Meeting
Our design process begins with a thorough discussion and understanding of the needs and desires of the client, the potential of the dedicated space, as well as the project budget. During this initial meeting we will present our detailed color portfolio, which showcase many examples of our various projects. The services that we offer include a thorough project analysis, ongoing consultation with the client, development of preliminary conceptual drawings, and the implementation of an exceptional design.
Design Costs

Space Assessment
The first step in the site assessment process is to compile a base plan from current information showing the existing conditions. We collect all relevant measurements & dimensions of the proposed wine cellar as well as the adjacent rooms and space. We then photograph the site area and digitize this into our CAD network. At this point, we have the necessary base information to begin the design process.
Preliminary Planning
We gather wine collection information that is unique to each of our clients to use as a benchmark in the design process. During the preliminary planning stage we evaluate your objectives, initial and alternative concepts, the selection of materials and budgetary considerations. At this point we will prepare preliminary design plans for your consideration. After completion of this important stage, we meet with you to review all preliminary designs and cost projections for the proposed project. Each detail reflected in the plans is collaboration between the client and Charles River Wine Cellars.
Final Design & Working Documents
Upon acceptance of a design concept and proposed budget, we move to the final design stage. This includes revised drawings, material selection, lighting plan, cooling & humidification specifications, and finalized project costs. The final design & specification package is unmatched in detail resulting in a clearly defined set of scope of work and expectations resulting in a successful finished product that will make both our client and our team of craftsmen proud.
